C90 Community Chorus
Join us and sing songs from the best decade in pop culture
C90 is a weekly singing group based in Stirchley, Birmingham. It’s open to people from 18 up who want to come together and sing 90s songs for fun, to make new friends, and maybe to perform the odd gig in public.
We meet every Friday at the Old Post Office in Stirchley.

Do I need a book a place?
Demand is increasing and we want to make sure that everyone who wants to can come. Please book a ticket via Eventbrite if you intend to join us.
-
Do I need to know how to read music?
Absolutely not! We learn songs through call-and-response repetition, so if you can read lyrics, that'll help, but you don't need any musical knowledge whatsoever.
-
What songs will we be singing?
We're building our own songbook, week by week. Check out our songbook here.
We also have a growing list of songs we're planning on learning, which you can check out on Spotify.
-
How much does it cost?
We ask members to pay £5 per session, but we'll take whatever you can afford. If that means £0, that's what you pay.
-
Do you perform for the public?
It's early days yet, but we're not ruling it out. Members will be invited to play some chilled, low-stakes environments, but if that doesn't sound like fun, you won't be pressured into performing.
-
I would benefit from additional support once I'm there. What can you provide?
We have limited seating, so if standing for long periods is difficult, get in touch once you've booked a ticket and we'll reserve a seat for you (you won't be asked to provide any "proof").
We provide some printed sheets and our full list of lyrics (along with music videos) is available via our Songbook page. We're also working on putting guided audio versions of each song there too, so you can learn the song that way.
We have a little time at the beginning of the session and a break during, where people can chat. Our venue's quite small so feel free to pop out to get some air or if the talking's too loud. We'll play a warmup game or two at the beginning where we might ask for your name, but other than that, you don't have to speak if you don't want to.
We go to a bar called The Den, which is about 2 minutes' walk from our venue, and which is wheelchair accessible. It gets a bit noisy, but the staff are really friendly.
